Was ist PrepP?What is PrepP?
Im Semester: Kurse belegen, Veranstaltungen in der Arbeitsumgebung mitschreiben, Notizen, Hefte und Dateien je Kurs ablegen — der Lernplan zeigt deine Woche als Kalender.
Vor der Klausur: unter Prüfungsbedingungen üben, die Einsicht auswerten und Lücken im Training gezielt schließen.
PrepP kommt auch als App für iPhone und iPad — der Link steht hier, sobald sie im App Store ist.
Mit PrepP schreibst du Klausuren unter echten Bedingungen — mit Uhr, Aufgabenleiste und Antwortfeldern; die Oberfläche ist der des RWTH-Prüfungssystems nachempfunden, damit am Klausurtag nichts neu ist.
Nach der Abgabe steht die Einsicht da: Punkte je Aufgabe, Musterlösung, Lösungsweg und deine eigenen Notizen dazu, warum es schiefging.
Und was falsch war, kommt ins Training — Aufgaben aus allen Klausuren des Kurses, nach Thema, Aufgabentyp und Fehlern gefiltert, bis es sitzt.

During the semester: join your courses, take notes on your sessions in the workspace, keep notes, notebooks and files per course — the study plan shows your week as a calendar.
Before the exam: practise under exam conditions, work through the review and close the gaps in training.
PrepP is also coming as an app for iPhone and iPad — the link will appear here once it is in the App Store.
On PrepP you sit exams under real conditions — clock, task bar and answer fields; the interface follows the RWTH examination system, so that nothing is new on the day itself.
Once you hand in, the review is there: points per task, the model solution, the worked solution, and your own notes on what went wrong.
And whatever was wrong goes into practice — tasks from every exam in the course, filtered by topic, task type and mistakes, until they stick.

PrepP ist für Studierende jeder Hochschule und jedes Fachs: Eigene Kurse, Klausuren, Hefte und Dateien legst du selbst an. Gebaut ist es an der RWTH Aachen — fertigen Inhalt gibt es derzeit in fünfzehn ihrer Grundlagenkurse, fast siebzig Klausursimulationen und Übungseinheiten, alle mit Musterlösung und Lösungsweg: PrepP is for students at any university and in any subject: you create your own courses, exams, notebooks and files. It is built at RWTH Aachen — ready-made content exists right now in fifteen of its foundational courses, almost seventy exam simulations and practice units, all with model solutions and worked solutions:

Die drei WegeThe three options

Ein kostenloses Konto, und alles aus den ersten sechs Zeilen der Tabelle steht offen: jede eingebaute Klausursimulation, die Einsicht, das Training, Material und Lernplan von Hand, das Schaltlabor, das Teilen. Dazu fünf kostenlose Anfragen an den KI-Tutor, damit du ihn kennenlernst, bevor du etwas bezahlst. A free account, and everything in the first six rows of the table is open: every built-in exam simulation, the review, the practice mode, material and study plan by hand, the circuit lab, sharing. Plus five free requests to the AI tutor, so you get to know it before paying anything.
Und wenn die fünf Anfragen nicht reichen: Studierende und Beschäftigte vieler NRW-Hochschulen können die KI-Funktionen von PrepP mit dem KI-Zugang ihrer Hochschule nutzen — über KI:connect (chat.kiconnect.nrw; an der RWTH ist das der RWTHgpt-Chat). Dort erzeugst du einen API-Schlüssel und trägst ihn in PrepP unter Einstellungen › KI ein; danach stehen alle KI-Funktionen offen, auch im kostenlosen Basiskonto: Tutor, Bewerter, Nachbereiter, das Erstellen und Variieren von Aufgaben und Kursmaterial und die Analyse deiner Dateien. Deine Anfragen laufen dann über dein Hochschul-Kontingent statt über PrepP — PrepP rechnet dafür nichts ab und setzt für diesen Weg kein Kontingent. Was der Schlüssel nicht freischaltet, sind Heft-Sync, Speicher und Kurs-Pool (die hängen am Semester-Pass) und Spracheingabe, Gesprächsmodus und die Stimmen der Podcasts (sie werden aus dem PrepP-KI-Guthaben bezahlt). Wo der Schlüssel liegt und wie lange, steht in der Datenschutzerklärung. And if five requests are not enough: students and staff of many universities in North Rhine-Westphalia can use PrepP's AI features with their university's AI access — via KI:connect (chat.kiconnect.nrw; at RWTH that is the RWTHgpt chat). You create an API key there and enter it in PrepP under Settings › AI; after that all AI features are open, in the free account too: tutor, marker, reviewer, creating and varying tasks and course material, and the analysis of your files. Your requests then run against your university quota instead of PrepP's — PrepP bills nothing for this route and sets no quota on it. What the key does not unlock are notebook sync, storage and the course pool (those come with the semester pass) and voice input, voice conversation and the voices of the podcasts (they are paid from your PrepP AI credit). Where the key is stored, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy.

Synchronisation auf allen Geräten gehört zum Pass; ohne Pass bleiben deine Daten auf dem Gerät. 183 Tage ab Kauf, ein Semester lang: alles, was du in PrepP anlegst, in deinem Konto und auf allen Geräten abgeglichen, deine Hefte eingeschlossen — beim Kauf geht einmal hoch, was bis dahin nur auf dem Gerät lag; große Dateien hinterlegen und von der KI analysieren lassen (bis 5 GB statt 100 MB, je Datei bis 50 MB; die KI analysiert Skripte bis 1200 Seiten, große in Teilen, bezahlt aus deinem Guthaben), Podcasts aus deinem Material und der Kurs-Pool zum Übernehmen und Starten. Dazu gehören 6 € PrepP-KI-Guthaben, gültig solange der Pass läuft, für die KI-Funktionen und für Spracheingabe und Gesprächsmodus im KI-Chat (bis 15 Minuten am Tag). Podcasts aus deinem Material und die Analyse großer Skripte laufen über dieses Guthaben. Einmal bezahlt, läuft von selbst aus — keine Verlängerung, nichts zu kündigen. Synchronisation across all devices comes with the pass; without a pass your data stays on the device. 183 days from purchase, one semester: everything you create in PrepP kept in your account and synced across all your devices, your notebooks included — on purchase, whatever was until then only on the device is uploaded once; store large files and have the AI analyse them (up to 5 GB instead of 100 MB, up to 50 MB per file; the AI analyses scripts of up to 1200 pages, large ones in parts, paid from your credit), podcasts from your material and the course pool for adding and starting content. It includes €6 of PrepP AI credit, valid while the pass runs, for the AI features and for voice input and voice conversation in the AI chat (up to 15 minutes a day). Podcasts from your material and the analysis of large scripts are paid from this credit. Paid once, expires on its own — no renewal, nothing to cancel.
PrepP-KI-Guthaben — 5 €, 10 € oder 20 €PrepP AI credit — €5, €10 or €20
Für jedes Konto, auch ohne Pass: Guthaben für Tutor, Bewerter, Nachbereiter und das Erstellen und Variieren mit PrepPs eigener KI. 5 € Guthaben kosten 6,50 €, 10 € Guthaben 11,99 €, 20 € Guthaben 20,99 €. Abgezogen werden je Anfrage ihre KI-Kosten, ohne Aufschlag; gekauftes Guthaben endet nicht mit dem Pass. Auch Spracheingabe, Gesprächsmodus, die Stimmen der Podcasts und die Analyse großer Dateien werden daraus nach Verbrauch abgerechnet — dafür braucht es keinen Pass. Verbraucht wird zuerst das Pass-Guthaben, dann das gekaufte. Wer sein Konto löscht, verliert einen Rest. For every account, with or without a pass: credit for the tutor, marker, reviewer, and for creating and varying with PrepP's own AI. €5 of credit costs €6.50, €10 of credit €11.99, €20 of credit €20.99. Each request deducts its AI cost, with no surcharge; purchased credit does not end with the pass. Voice input, voice conversation, the voices of the podcasts and the analysis of large files are also paid from it by usage — no pass needed for that. Pass credit is used first, purchased credit after that. Deleting your account forfeits any remainder.

- Konto anlegen. Vorname, Benutzername, E-Mail, Passwort — auf der Startseite. Kostenlos, ohne Zahlungsdaten. Create an account. First name, username, email, password — on the start page. Free, no payment details.
- Kurs wählen. Unter „Kurse“ nimmst du an den Kursen deines Fachsemesters teil; im Profil geht das für den ganzen Studienplan auf einmal. Pick your courses. Under “Courses” you join the courses of your semester; in your profile you can do a whole study plan at once.
- Erste Simulation schreiben. Ganze Klausur, Uhr läuft. Danach zeigt die Einsicht, was sitzt und was nicht — und das Training übernimmt den Rest. Sit your first simulation. A whole exam, clock running. Afterwards the review shows what stuck and what did not — and practice takes over from there.
- Erst dann entscheiden. Semester-Pass oder Guthaben kaufst du in PrepP unter Einstellungen › Konto, wenn du weißt, ob dir die KI-Funktionen etwas bringen. Only then decide. You buy the semester pass or credit inside PrepP under Settings › Account, once you know whether the AI features are worth it for you.
- Falls du an der RWTH bist: eigenen Schlüssel eintragen. Bei KI:connect (chat.kiconnect.nrw) unter „API-Schlüsselverwaltung“ einen Schlüssel erzeugen und ihn in PrepP unter Einstellungen › KI eintragen. Damit laufen alle KI-Funktionen über dein RWTHgpt-Kontingent, und du brauchst dafür kein PrepP-KI-Guthaben. Schlüssel gelten einen Monat; danach erzeugst du dort einen neuen. If you are at RWTH: enter your own key. Create a key at KI:connect (chat.kiconnect.nrw) under “API key management” and enter it in PrepP under Settings › AI. All AI features then run against your RWTHgpt quota, and you need no PrepP AI credit for them. Keys are valid for one month; after that you create a new one there.
